TAIPEI, Oct 15, 2015 - BIG SUN Group, a Taiwanese solar photovoltaic (PV) manufacturer, today introduced the iPVita solar monitoring system at PV Taiwan exhibition, brings a new chapter for photovoltaic industry. iPV Box is the data logger and controller of iPVita system, which uses dynamic IP addresses to allow users to monitor real-time power generation, environmental information, system status, PR value, fault notification, troubleshooting tracking, and remote control equipment via web-based iPVita portal.
A single iPV Box is able to integrate up to 50 devices (such as inverters, solar irradiance meter, thermometer, AC meters), and support a PV power site with up to 12.5 MW power capacity. Each measured data can be stored in the cloud server for 30 years and performed offsite backup instantly. The size of iPV Box is smaller than a hand palm, with low power consumption and is capable of plug and play. In addition, iPVita also can automatically detect system faults, helps users to quickly define the problem of their own power systems. The impressive features of iPVita with amazing value: it significantly reduces maintenance and operation costs of PV power sites, and also assists small sites to afford a professional monitoring system.
To optimize user experience, iPVita offers a free monitoring app, therefore, users can perform PV monitoring from their mobile device, anytime, anywhere; it also provides custom page layout service with unique styles. BIG SUN states that “In the future, iPVita will also support residential and commercial smart energy management, combined with green energy monitoring to achieve intelligent energy control in the new era.”
In the era of the Internet of Things (IoT), cloud computing enables the surrounding objects to be monitored and controlled remotely. BIG SUN does not only continue to develop high-efficiency solar cells, but also applies its integration capabilities of existing manufacturing execution system to move toward to Industry 4.0. The iPVita launch, besides making BIG SUN’s iPV Solar Tracker be a part of IoT, it also help to transform the firm from manufacturing only businesses to diverse services. The future services of cloud computing and big data will be the other main businesses of BIG SUN.
