BIG SUN Energy announced a new ˇ§Combo-Cellˇ¨ product line with 17.8% average conversion efficiency
Hukou, Taiwan, August 12, 2009 - Big Sun Energy Technology Inc., a solar cell manufacturing company, today announced a new solar cell product line based on its newly developed ˇ§Combo-Cellˇ¨ technology. Combo-Cell utilizes special shallow junction and highly anti-reflective surface texturing processes so that the cell External Quantum Efficiency (EQE) can be effectively improved. In addition, by incorporating an optimal electrode layout, the average solar cell conversion efficiency for 6ˇ¨ and 5ˇ¨ Mono cells can reach 17.8% in mass production. This newly developed Combo-Cell technology can be manufactured in volume based on the current equipment sets. No additional investment in capital equipment is required. Currently the company is ramping up its production volume for the 5ˇ¨ and 6ˇ¨ series of high efficiency solar cells based on this new technology.
